Face Make-up: Products and tips for a great look

Facial make-up forms the basis for a successful and beautiful make-up look. But which products are particularly suitable for the complexion and how do you achieve a particularly even and natural result?

The perfect choice for an even complexion

The make-up look for the face can look different for each person. It always depends on personal taste and what look you want to achieve. We would like to introduce you to the most important make-up products for a great complexion so that you can find the right choice for you.

Primers

With Primers you prepare your skin optimally for all upcoming complexion products. Depending on the product, the formula has a moisturizing, pore-refining, mattifying or beautiful glow effect.

Foundation

Foundation is ideal for ensuring an even complexion. The formulas act like an Instagram filter on your skin and easily cover redness, spots, etc. Foundation is available in different textures: liquid, powder, stick, cream and mousse. Liquid foundation is the most popular variant.

Choosing the right shade is particularly important when choosing the foundation that suits you best. The foundation should match your skin tone perfectly so that it doesn't look like a mask.

Colored daycreme

Tinted day creams are considered an ideal alternative to classic foundation. If foundation is too much for you or you don't need a high level of coverage, you can use a tinted day cream such as BB or CC cream.

Tinted day creams are the perfect choice, especially in summer or with light daytime make-up. Here, too, choose a shade that matches your skin tone. However, you will usually find a smaller selection of different colors here, so you can also mix two shades together to match your skin tone exactly.

Concealers

In contrast to foundation or tinted day cream, you use Concealers usually not over a large area of your face. The thicker texture is ideal for covering dark circles under the eyes or blemishes. Just like with foundation, you should choose a color that suits you. Here, however, the shade can actually be a little lighter to brighten the eye area in particular and ensure a more awake look.

Powder

Powder settles your foundation and also comes in various shades as in transparent formulas that adapt to every skin tone. You can use powder to make your make-up last longer and mattify your face. Powder is a good choice, especially for oily and combination skin, to cover up oily shine.

Face Tan

Self-tanner for the face (Face Tan) conjure up a lightly tanned complexion that makes you look fresher straight away. You apply the formulas during your skin care routine and after a few hours you can enjoy a beautiful holiday glow.

Contouring and Highlighting

With the so-called Contouring you can model your face and emphasize your facial features. With a slightly darker, cool tone, you can create shadows on your face, for example to make your nose appear narrower, to emphasize your cheekbones more or to create the much-loved “jawline”.

With Highlighters, a light, shimmering product, you can set light accents that make the key areas stand out more. When it comes to contouring and highlighting, you can also find different textures: creams, sticks, powders or liquid products.

Bronzer and blush

A look like you've just come back from vacation? No problem, these make-up looks will work perfectly with Bronzers and blush. Bronzers, not to be confused with the cool contouring products, have a warm undertone and shimmer particles. The darker shade gives you a slightly tanned complexion and looks simply great.

Blush or Rouge gives you a fresh and sun-kissed look and can be placed in many different ways on your face.

Fixing Spray

You apply Fixing Sprays at the end of your make-up routine to make your look last longer. It is especially suitable for the complexion, but also for unique eye make-up and is the perfect choice to ensure a long-lasting look.

Instructions for a successful make-up look

How exactly do you use these great make-up products? Find out how to do it best with our short instructions.

Step 1: Preparation

Before applying make-up, you should always have a balanced skin care routine that is tailored to the needs of your skin. Above all, remember to use suitable Face care to give your skin plenty of moisture.

Tip: In the evening an intensive Face Cleansing can not go missing, in order to wash off the make-up.

Step 2: Basis

If you wish, you can apply a primer that matches your desired look. Apply it evenly over your entire face and massage the texture in well.

Tip: Use appropriate Brushes and tools to ensure particularly even results.

Step 3: Balance

Apply the concealer to blemishes and the eye area. Work the texture in thoroughly by patting it in with your finger or blending it with a make-up sponge.

Step 4: Conceal

Apply a small amount of your foundation or tinted moisturizer. You'll usually only need a pea-sized amount. Again, use a make-up sponge, your hands, or a foundation brush to help the formula blend into your skin.

Step 5: Modeling

Place your bronzer just below your cheekbones, along your nose and jawline, and at your temples. Blend the product to avoid sharp edges and instead create smooth transitions.

Step 6: Accentuate

Gently apply your bronzer to your face - ideally on your forehead, cheeks and chin. Again, remember to blend the bronzer well and use less product at first.

You can apply the blush in a variety of ways. For example, you can apply it to your cheeks and let it blend towards your nose, or alternatively you can blend it onto your cheekbones and up to your temples.

Step 7: Highlight

Apply the highlighter to the tip of your nose, your cheekbones and above your cupid's bow. Depending on the texture, you can apply the product with your finger, a brush or a sponge.

Step 8: Fix

Apply 2-3 pumps of your favorite fixing spray to your face to make the look last longer. Done!
