Use after cleansing your face, followed by a night cream. Start with a maximum of 3x a week, increase the frequency of use. Avoid direct lip contact and do not apply the product too close to the eye. If irritation occurs, stop use immediately.

If your skin is overreacting (red, flaky, dry) to the Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment, consider reducing the frequency of use or mix a small pump of the Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment with your favorite Paula's Choice serum, Resist Anti-Aging Renewal Oil Mix in a booster or a night cream. If skin continues to have a severe reaction, discontinue use altogether. Protect your skin every day with an SPF of at least 30. The amount of retinol in this product is approximately equivalent to that of some prescription retinoids (which should not be used while pregnant or breastfeeding). Due to the close proximity of retinol (the cosmetic variant of vitamin A) and retinoids, we do not recommend using this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless specifically authorized by your doctor. While there is no direct evidence that retinol could be harmful in any way, we recommend playing it safe and not using the product while pregnant or breastfeeding. For external use only.
