Lip make-up: Helpful tips and great lip products for a unique look

Make-up is incredibly versatile and represents creativity and individuality. One of the classic make-up products is lip products such as lipstick. But you can conjure up breathtaking looks and show off your lips with more than just lipstick. There are now a variety of lip products in different colors, from lipstick to lip gloss and lip tint, that can beautify your lips.

Lip products at a glance

There are numerous different lip products that represent different looks. Here you can find out more about the differences and make the ideal choice for you:

  • Lip care includes care sticks, lipsticks with nourishing ingredients, lip balm in jars, hydrating treatments with applicators, lip serums and lip masks. We particularly recommend a care product that provides moisture and keeps your lips supple. During the day, lip care with sun protection can also be worthwhile to protect your lips from UV radiation. At night, you can go a little more intense: lip serums and lip masks are the perfect care here. If your lips are very dry, a lip scrub can also help to gently remove dry skin flakes.
  • Lip Oil nourishes the lips, but also provides a shiny finish at the same time. Some lip oils contain color pigments, so they also give your lips a beautiful touch of color.
  • Lip Gloss is a classic among lip products. Its liquid texture gives a shiny finish that shimmers beautifully in the light. Special lip gloss with a plumping effect makes the lips appear larger. Here you can choose from different colors or transparent formulas.
  • Lip liners are creamy pencils that are primarily used to make your lipstick last longer. You outline your lips with the lip liner beforehand and can then easily fill in and make your lips fuller. You can also wear the soft textures without lipstick if you want. However, when combined with lipstick, they prevent the lipstick from running.
  • Lipstick is the classic among lip products. They have a soft, creamy texture and range from matte to glossy finishes. Many lipsticks are also enriched with nourishing ingredients. In general, lipsticks have a higher coverage than lip glosses.
  • Lip Plumper have, as the name suggests, a "plumping" effect. With ingredients such as mint or chili oil, the tingling formulas ensure fuller and well-circulated lips. You may have to get used to the tingling sensation at first.
  • Liquid Lipstick combines the liquid texture of a lipstick with the finish of a lipstick. Here you can also choose between matte and glossy results.
  • A Lip Set is the perfect duo for a successful make-up. They consist of lip liner and lipstick, for example.
  • Lip Tints are the new, trendy lip product. They moisturize your lips and provide long-lasting color. Because even when the top shine has disappeared, the colors remain.

How to choose the right lipstick color?

The lipstick color naturally also depends on the look you want to create. Especially if you have planned a more subtle eye make-up, the color of the lip product can be more striking and strong.

Of course, you can also choose your lipstick to match your outfit and pick up the colors from your clothes. If you want a natural look instead, it is ideal to choose a lipstick color that is close to your natural lip color.

What do you need for lip makeup?

For a classic lip look, you'll need a lipstick and lip liner in the same color. Make sure your lips are soft and supple - otherwise, use a lip balm.

That's how it works:

Step 1: Outline your lip contour with the lip liner and fill it in lightly.

Step 2: Then apply the lipstick. Try to be as precise as possible.

Step 3: Dab excess color from your lips with a tissue.

Step 4: Apply a second coat of lipstick.

No more lipstick on your teeth: Wrap your lips around your thumb as if you were sucking on it. The excess lipstick that would otherwise end up on your teeth will settle on the skin on your thumb.
