Korean beauty brands are known for innovation, both in terms of the ingredients and the technologies used. In addition, Korean skincare relies on a multi-stage and, above all, sophisticated skincare routine that soothes the skin and provides it with a large amount of moisture.

Korean skincare ingredients

Innovative ingredients in Korean skincare include mainly natural substances, but also ingredients that are rather unusual for us.

Known ingredients include:

  • Centella Asiatica is also known as Indian pennywort, Asian pennywort, tiger grass and Gotu Kola and is used primarily in traditional Chinese medicine. It is considered to be particularly wound-healing, regenerating and anti-inflammatory and is one of the main ingredients in Korean Beauty - for example, all ingredients in the SKIN1004 brand are based on Centella Asiatica.
  • Calendula, marigold, protects the skin from dryness, inflammation and even premature aging.

  • Propolis (Bee resin) has antibacterial properties and anti-inflammatory effects. It is therefore ideal for treating impurities and preventing the formation of pimples.
  • Green tea relieves inflammation and irritation and has a calming effect and stimulates the regeneration of the skin.
  • Bamboo has an antibacterial effect and helps fight pimples and blemishes.
  • Activated carbon absorbs excess oil from the skin and has a preventative effect on pimples and blackheads.
  • Rice extract/rice water are an indispensable part of skin care, as they are particularly beneficial for irritated and sensitive skin. At the same time, it has a very gentle peeling effect, thus ensuring super soft skin and reducing pigment spots.
  • Lotus flower extract has a calming and soothing effect on the skin and helps to reduce redness. At the same time, it has a pore-minimizing effect and thus ensures a refined complexion.
  • Ginseng has antioxidant properties and prevents the breakdown of collagen, making it a great anti-aging ingredient. Ginseng also provides a lot of moisture.
